Arne D. Bjarno

WALLINGFORD - Arne D. Bjarno, 69, of Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of 48 years of Pamela Hurley Bjarno.

Born in New Haven, Dec. 18, 1943, the son of the late Marinus and Dorothy Wilbur Bjarno, he was a Wallingford resident for many years. He had been employed as the regional sales manager for Tinius Olsen Testing Machine Company for 25 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Wallingford Lodge of Elks 1365.

Besides his wife Pamela, he is survived by his daughter, Lee Somerset and her husband, Jason, of Meriden; his son, Arne Bjarno and his wife, Eileen, of Glastonbury; and his grandchildren, Emily Bjarno, Morgan Bjarno, Madelyn Bjarno, Claire Bjarno, and Kathryn Somerset.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Saturday, July 20, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Margaret Jay officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, Hematology and Oncology Department, 282 Washington St., Hartford, CT 06106 or to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
