Betty M. Allen Skinnon

WALLINGFORD - Betty M. Allen Skinnon, wife of the late Jimmy Skinnon, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Westfield Care and Rehab Center. She was 93.

Betty was born in Meriden on May 13, 1919, the younger of two daughters of Harry and Alice Grainger Allen. She graduated from Meriden High School, was a homemaker while her children were growing up, and later did childcare and senior home companion work. Betty was an outgoing and sociable person who enjoyed outings and travel with her family, reading, and caring for her many pets over the years.

She is survived by her two sons, David (Mary Kay), and Mark (Nancy) Skinnon; three grandchildren, Kristin (John) Nam, Kevin (Michelle) Skinnon, and Colleen Skinnon; a great-granddaughter, Maya Skinnon; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. In addition to her husband, Betty was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Gaskell.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Westfield Care and Rehab Center for their excellent care of Betty over the past five years.

Burial will be private and at the family's convenience. Relatives and friends may call at the Wallingford Funeral Home at 809 North Main St. Ext., in Wallingford from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23.
