WALLINGFORD - Helen Elizabeth Criscuolo, 64, of Wallingford, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at MidState Medical Center, after a sudden illness.
She was born in Michigan, May 18, 1945, a daughter of the late Steve and Margaret (Lawlor) Brija. She had been employed for many years by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in North Haven. Helen was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, where she volunteered for many activities and taught in the C.C.D. program.
She is survived by her two sons, Frederick Richard Criscuolo IV, and his wife, Julia, of Middlefield, and Raymond J. Criscuolo and his wife, Rachel, of Wallingford; her daughter, Gina M. Welsh and her husband, John, of Meriden; her three grandchildren, Cassandra Minore, Samantha Minore and John Welsh; and the father of her children, Frederick Richard Criscuolo III. She was predeceased by her brother, John Brija.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 until 11:30 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon.
