MERIDEN - James Clifford Hazlett, Jr., 81, lifelong resident of Meriden, passed away on Dec. 22, 2012, after a short illness.
He was born in Meriden on June 12, 1931, to the late James C. and Pauline Totz Hazlett, Sr.
James leaves his sons, James (Meredith) Hazlett, of Meriden, Tyrone Hazlett of West Warwick, R.I. and Wayne (Laurel) Hazlett, of South Berwick, Maine; siblings, Patricia Hazlett and John Hazlett, both of Meriden and Richard Hazlett, of Lakewood, Colo.; grandchildren, Paula Dyer, Melissa Perry, Rachael and Carol Hazlett, and Chrystal Sturdahl; nine great-grandchildren.
James had been employed at the Stone School of Business, the Morse School of Business, and was the Assistant Vice President of the Home National Bank in Meriden. He had also been the President of the Meriden Civitan Club. When he wasn't working, he found pleasure in hiking, camping, riding his motorcycle, and a good fife and drum parade.
His Mass of Christian burial will be held in St. Joseph's Church, Meriden, on Thursday, De. 27, at 11 a.m. followed by interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Meriden.
