WALLINGFORD - Jeanne Hughes Bechtold, 74, beloved wife of the late Albert J. Bechtold, Sr., of Main Street, Yalesville section of Wallingford, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., July 24, 1936, a daughter of the late George and Louisa Householder Hughes, and had been employed by Data Products New England for many years, until her retirement. A square dancer, she had been a member of the Silver Squares, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Potter and her husband, Barry, of South Meriden; her two sons, Albert J. Bechtold, Jr., and his wife, Kim, of Meriden, and Martin J. Bechtold and his wife, Lise Smith, of Carlisle, Pa.; her five grandchildren, Randi Lee Smith, Kevin Potter, Amanda Bechtold, Martin Bechtold, II and Jade Edwards; her sister, Dolores Kirby, of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Samantha Jean Potter; her two brothers, Joseph and George Hughes; her three sisters, Margaret Dorris, Alice Magrey, and Betty Hughes; and her close friends, Thomas and Kay Bouza.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Saturday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m., Saturday. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Meriden will be private.
