Joseph A. Chalifoux

MERIDEN - Joseph A. Chalifoux, 90, husband of the late Georgianna Brobson Chalifoux, died on December 20, 2012.
Born in Meriden on February 21, 1922, he was the son of the late Adelard and Dora (Naylor) Chalifoux. He had lived in Meriden all of his life and had attended St. Laurent Parochial School, Meriden High School, and Meriden Trade School. Mr. Chalifoux was retired from International Silver Company as a designer. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Mr. Chalifoux was a Eucharistic minister and visited patients at MidState Medical Center for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Chalifoux is survived by a son-in-law, Thomas J. Fink, of Bristol; three grandchildren, Sara, Michael, and Kristin Byczynski; two great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Millie MacNeil. He was predeceased by one daughter, Cynthia (Chalifoux) Fink, and two sisters, Marie Stevens and Irene Sheehan. Joseph is also survived by two nieces and two nephews.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., and at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.
