Manuel Israel Cardona

MERIDEN - Manuel Israel Cardona, 68, beloved husband of the late Luz Cardona, passed away on Friday Jan. 17, 2014 at MidState Medical Center.

Manuel was from Aguada, Puerto Rico and had lived in Meriden for the past 50 years. He was known for his sense of humor and sarcasm. Manuel was a very lovable and generous man who was loved dearly by everyone.

Mr. Cardona is survived by his daughters, Seire Cardona-Esquilin and Gynora Cardona, both of Meriden; two precious grandchildren, Jialana and Jadiel Cardona-Esquilin; his daughter-in-law, Mayra Esquilin; eight brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved as his own children.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday Jan. 22 at 9:15 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
