Maria (Wagner) Oppedisano

SOUTHINGTON - Maria (Wagner) Oppedisano, 72, wife of the late Joseph C. Oppedisano, died on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at Southington Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Born in Neustadt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Rudolf Wagner and Maria (Appolonia) Wagner. She had resided in Meriden for over 40 years and more recently in Southington. Mrs. Oppedisano was employed by Midstate Medical Center for some eighteen years before her retirement.

She is survived by four daughters, Manuela (Ella) Burdick and her husband, Robert, of Meriden, Claudia Landa and her husband, Christopher, of Meriden, Patricia Westwood and her husband, John, of North Kingston, R.I., and Maryann LeClair and her husband, Ronald, of Southington; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Shannon, Robert, Jr., and Brandon Burdick, Katie and Joey Landa, Michael and Kevin Westwood and Rylee and Alex LeClair; five sisters; and one brother in Germany; and a sister-in-lawl Angie Maletta and her husbandl Mario. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several sisters and brothers in Germany.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, March 1, at 10 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Southington Care Center, Resident Activity Fund, 45 Meriden Ave., Southington, CT 06489.
