Noella Newton

WALLINGFORD- Noella Newton, 82, of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at the Skyview Center in Wallingford surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Sherman Newton.

Noella was born on Dec. 22, 1931, in St. Francis, Maine. She was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School's class of 1951. She was known for crocheting, and her creations graced the homes and lives of friends, family and strangers alike.

In addition to her husband, she will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jeannette Bunnell and her husband, Mark, of Durham, Doris Mathieu and her husband, Larry, of Maine, Phyllis Sehl and her husband, Robert, of North Stonington, Linda Jacobson, of Wallingford, and Christine (Tina) Daly and her husband, Bil,l of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services were private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. There were no calling hours.
