WALLINGFORD- On Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, Mrs. Pamela Evon Johnson departed this life after a brief illness. She was a passionate special educator having first taught in the Meriden School District for a number of years and then moving to Wallingford School District as a special education supervisor. Upon her retirement from Wallingford she went onto serve as an educational surrogate parent for the state board of education. She was an avid skier, a lover of nature and a world traveler who along with her husband, traveled much of Europe, Asia, Africa, Aruba and most recently, an RV trip across the U.S. to South Dakota.
She leaves behind to mourn her sudden departure her devoted husband of 29 years, Dr. James Johnson. In addition, her son, Edward James Johnson; her loving and devoted mother, Shirley Evon; her brother, Lawrence T. Sage and his wife, Roberta; her nephew, Lawrence A. Sage and his wife, Diane and their children, Michael and Lawrence J. Sage; her niece, Amy Kearney and her husband, James and their children, Brittany and Joshua; an aunt, Gladys Giannelli; and a host of cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Stephen L. Evon.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no viewing, calling hours or services. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
