Paul E. Lanford

WINDSOR LOCKS - Paul E. Lanford, 84, formerly of Wallingford, departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Hartford Hospital in Hartford. He was the loving husband of Rachel Lanford.

Paul was born on March 25, 1929, in Enoree, S.C., a son of the late Dennis and Lily (Smith) Lanford. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and prior to his retirement he had worked for Allegheny Ludlum in Wallingford. He had been a member of Compass Lodge 9 and was active in various avenues of masonry including the Knights Templar and Shriners International. He enjoyed metal detecting.

In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughters, Dorothy Diane Lanford, of Windsor Locks and Karen Kaplan and her husband, Ken, of Suffield; a son, Ray Lanford and his wife, Wendy, of Hebron; grandchildren, Darla, Joseph and Sara; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Alex, Alana and Joseph; and his nieces, Susan Cosgrove and Linda Kafka, of Wallingford.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 22, at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford from 9 to 10:45 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery.
