Robert William Geffken, Sr.

ROCKY HILL - Robert William Geffken, Sr., 86, died on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the son of the late George and Julia (Anstatt) Geffken, of Rockfall.

Born Jan. 28, 1926, in Rockfall, he was a longtime resident of both Meriden and Rocky Hill. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by International Silver Company in Meriden for over 30 years.

He is survived by his three sons, Robert, Jr., of Portland, Maine, Thomas and his wife, Kimberly (Aiello,) of Southington, and Daniel, of Concord, Mass. In addition, he is survived by five Geffken grandchildren, Paul (Somerville, Mass.), Michael (Nashville, Tenn.), Matthew and Melissa (Southington) and Molly (Concord, Mass.). He is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Dibble, Sylvania, Ohio; and his sister-in-law, Mary (Cowan) Geffken, of N. Fort Myers, Fla. He was predeceased by his brother, Howard, N., of Fort Myers, Fla.

The funeral service will be held at John J. Ferry Funeral Home, 88 East Main St. Meriden, Saturday, Jan. 19, at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Middlefield Cemetery, Main Street, Middlefield.
