Raymond Dufour Obituary

Raymond J. Dufour, 53, of Plainville, died Nov. 21, 2010, at Hartford Hospital.

He was born March 26, 1957, in New Britain, to the late Gerard and Olida (Theriault) Dufour. He was a longtime Plainville resident and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was employed with Wiremold Company for many years in West Hartford. He loved to go fishing and was an avid woodworker. He was a kind man, who was always there to lend a helping hand. His selflessness in life continues in death as he gave the gift of life to others through organ donation.

He is survived by his beloved children, Raymond Dufour, of Berlin, and Christina L. Dufour, of New Britain, with boyfriend, Andrew Venturo, of Plainville; his stepmother, Hilda Dufour, of New Britain; his sister, Barbara Levesque and her husband, Gaetan, of Southington; step-siblings, Gil Gauvin and Tina Violette; and his former wife, Sharon Dufour, of Plainville. along with several adored nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Nov. 26, 2010, at Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville. A Mass was held Nov. 27, 2010, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. Memorial donations may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, 317 Foxon Road, East Haven, CT 06513.
