Clyde Sorber Obituary

BRANFORD - Clyde Kenneth Sorber "Kenny" passed peacefully from this world after a brief illness at the VA Medical Center in West Haven on Friday, Sept. 7, with the love, support and guidance from his family.

Mr. Sorber was born Dec. 4, 1950, in North Carolina, son of Mason C. Sorber Jr., and the late Nora D. (Wall) Sorber. Clyde was a lifelong Pacifist but his strong sense of duty and his love of country led him to enlist in the U.S. Army where he served four years in communications during the Vietnam conflict. Clyde was also a gentleman, a poet and a dedicated worker for 16 years at CAS Medical Supply of Branford.

Clyde is survived by his best friend, and brother, Mason C. Sorber III and his wife, Debra, of Branford, along with his brother, John J. Sorber and his wife, Beth, of San Diego, Calif., Russell Sorber, of Wallingford and Robin Sorber; his sisters, Pamela Willard, of Wallingford, Tracy Ouellette and her husband, Tom, of Durham, and Carol Masse and her husband, Ron, of Meriden. Uncle Kenny will be greatly missed by his niece and Goddaughter, Crystal Sorber with whom he shared a special friendship, along with nieces, Michelle, Roxanne, Kelly, April, Wendy and Meghan; and his nephews, Tommy, K.C., John, Sean, Mason IV, Robbie, Nolan and Joshua; great-niece, September; and great-nephews, Elias, Erik and Gage. Clyde was predeceased by his beloved mother, Nora Duvall Sorber; his brother, James M. Sorber; and the love of his life, Debbie Archangelo.

A graveside service with full military honors will take place this Friday, Sept. 14, at the State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 317 Bowe Lane, Middletown at 1:30 p.m. sharp.
