Joseph Mule Obituary
Born in Meriden on July 5, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph F., Sr., and Rose (DeMaria) Mule. He had resided in Meriden for his entire life, attended local schools and was involved in the family business of Mule's Market on Liberty Street, for over 41 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church, a member of the Meriden Elks, was the 1988 Elk of the Year and was active in their Monday night Bingo. He was a member of The Unison Club, holding their presidency in 1983.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie Arsenault and her husband, Joe, of Meriden, Dawn Cormier and her husband, Tom, of Wethersfield; and a granddaughter, Victoria Rose, who was the joy of his life. He is also survived by a sister, Elaine Butterfield; two brothers, Robert Mule, Sr., and Vincent Mule and his wife, Donna, and sister-in-law, Agnes Kremski, all of Meriden; and a sister-in-law, Sally Mule, of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Salvatore and Raymond Mule; a sister, Katherine Kordys; and sister-in-laws, Jean Janor and Carol Mule; and brother-in-laws, Henry Janor, Maxim Kremski, and Burton Butterfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Monday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Sunday, Feb. 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. My family shopped at the market on Liberty Street before we moved to Ohio in 1968. Joe got a kick out of my Mom coming to the store in her witch costume at Halloween. She liked to tell the story of the first time she did it and scared the crap out of Vinny and Joe walked out of the freezer and saw her and started laughing and told Vinny, "That's Mrs. Parker." My condolences to the entire family.
