MERIDEN - Albert Bordonaro, 87, of Meriden, husband of Lucy Spinelli Bordonaro, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014.

Born in Meriden on April 12, 1927, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Antoinette (Pistritto) Bordonaro. He was a lifelong resident of Meriden, except for his time in the U.S. Navy and a short time in California. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during World War II. Mr. Bordonaro graduated from New England Technical Institute as an electronic technician. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Hartford and a master's degree from Wesleyan University. He was employed by Yale TV as a television and radio technician during the 1950"s. He was also a mathematics teacher at Maloney High School from 1960 to 1969, and retired from Waterbury State Tech., in 1992, where he was a mathematics professor for 24 years.

Besides his wife Lucy, he is survived by two step-sons, Dean Spinelli and Gary Spinelli and his wife, Debbie, four step-grandchildren, Vanessa Wrobel, Brett Spinelli, Marie Taddeo and Candace Gebbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife of 42 years, Enis Monteleone Bordonaro; three brothers, Salvatore, Angelo and Frank Bordonaro; and four sisters, Santina Bordonaro, Carmelina Corsino, Helen Wirth and Josephine Malavenda.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held on Friday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Ave., in Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Franciscan Home Care and Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden CT 06451 or the Our Lady of Mt.
