Arline Joyce Chase Leck

SOUTHINGTON- Arline Leck, 88, of Plantsville, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1925, in Meriden, to the late Frank Miles and Arlia Hawley Chase. Arline lived all her life in Meriden and attended local schools. She was married in 1947 to the love of her life, the late William A. Leck, and together they had two children, the late William Paul Leck, formerly of Vermont and Deborah Leck currently of California. Arline was steeped in the New England work ethic and had a varied career working for several local industries including Meriden Glass, New Departure, Arrow Gasket, International Silver and World Tableware International. Arline loved spending time with her family, cooking inspired gourmet cuisine, reading, listening to music of many genres and traveling with her husband and their many friends. Sunny California was among Arline's favorite travel destinations.

Arline is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah Leck, of California; her sister and best friend, Ruth Chase Johnson, of Meriden; her brother and Chase family historian, Luin Chase, of Cheshire ;along with many friends; nieces and nephews, including her loving niece, Judith Johnson, of Meriden and her loving nephew, Allen Johnson, of Raleigh, N.C. Arline was predeceased by brothers, Marl and Robert Chase; and sister, Bertha Lindelof.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at 1p.m. at Hubbard Chapel at Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony Road, Meriden. Pastor Alex da Silva Souto of South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Arline will be laid to rest along side her husband and son at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Arline's daughter Deb wishes to thank the staff of Mulberry Gardens in Plantsville for seven years of quality care and attention given to her beloved mother.
