Barbara G. Dorr

MERIDEN - Barbara G. Dorr, 85, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Aurora Senior Living of New Britain.

Born on July 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion Gutman. Barbara was a lontime resident of Meriden. She worked as a Maître D at the Yankee Silversmith Restaurant and was employed as a secretary at Comcast in Berlin and Pfizer in Rocky Hill. Barbara enjoyed boating to Block Island and Montauk, taking vacations to Florida and going to the movies. She was a very social individual and a great asset to the Meriden Community. Most of all Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorr is survived by her sons, Francis Korzenko, of Meriden, Michael Korzenko, of Honolulu, Hawaii; two sisters, Nina Dolan and her husband, John, of Wethersfield, Peggy Murphy and her husband, Tom, of Winter Haven, Fla.; her two cherished grandchildren, Christine and James Korzenko; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Janice Tracy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, July 18, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
