Chester Bruzy Obituary
Born in Meriden on February 23, 1942, he was the son of the late Chester and Muriel (Lazor) Bruzy. He graduated from Francis T. Maloney High School, Class of 1960 and had resided in San Diego since 1975.
Mr. Bruzy was employed by the San Diego Police Department for over twenty years, retiring in 2003. Prior he was a Meriden Police Officer for ten years. He was a Vietnam War veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the San Diego Police Department Retirees, an avid NY Yankee and UCONN Huskies Basketball Team Fan and a frequent visitor to the Flamingo Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas
He is survived by a daughter Cheryl LaJoie and Mike of Enfield, a son Robert J. Bruzy of Meriden and three grandchildren, Rebecca L. Voelkl of Middletown and Francesca L. and James R. Bruzy both of Meriden. He is also survived by former daughter in law Susan Bruzy of Meriden and former wife Dorothy Bruzy of Somers.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St Stanislaus Church, 35 Akron St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden on Friday October 4th from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, 659 Tower Ave., First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112. For online condolences and directions please visit www.jferryfh.com

Cheryl, Dorothy and Rebecca, I am so sorry for your loss. Of course you know that I remember your Dad many years ago when he served on the Meriden Police Department and that he and my Dad worked together. It's been a long time since we've seen each other.
