Edward Dolaczynski Obituary

MERIDEN - Edward Dolaczynski, 90, of Meriden passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Apple Rehab Coccomo. He was the loving husband of the late Marie R. (Fiondella) Dolaczynski for 63 years.

Edward was born Aug. 26, 1923 in Nanticoke, Pa., to the late Michael and Helen (Kosciolek) Dolaczynski. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific Theater where he earned a Purple Heart. He retired as an inspector for Cuno Corporation after 35 years of service. Mr. Dolaczynski loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He had great faith in God and enjoyed sharing it with others. Ed loved listening to WIHS radio of Middletown and would like to thank them for their hours of inspiration they provided him.

Edward is survived by his two children, Daryl Dolaczynski and his wife, Urania, of Meriden and Debbie Walter and her husband, Doug, of Killingworth; and his three grandchildren, Daniel, David and Janelle; he also leaves behind his sister, Theresa Lapuc and her husband, Ted, of Madison. He was predeceased by his sister, Eva Struchowsky.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
