WALLINGFORD- Francis J. Myers Jr., of Clinton, formerly of Wallingford, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Middlesex Hospital. He was the longtime companion of Edith Nagy.

Fran was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1939, the son of the late Josephine Gwist Myers and Francis J. Myers Sr. He was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School class of 1957 and had served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Raymond Engineering, West Marine, Boat U.S. and the D.E.E.P. Fran was an avid sailor having sailed to Maine, Block Island, R.I., Long Island, N.Y., and Lake Superior. He was known for his sense of humor and his stories. He was a member of the Westbrook Elks, Mystic Seaport and the Boulder Lake Association. He was predeceased by his four legged friends, Mr. Pupps and Willie.
In addition to Edith, Fran leaves behind her children, Jay, Jeff (Christine), David, Daniel and Amanda Nagy; grandchildren, Daniel (Aubrie) Nagy, Amie Nagy, Kelly (Matt) Watson, Max Nagy, Sarah (Stephen) Neubig, Jeffrey Nagy, Elizabeth Nagy, and Julie Nagy; great-granddaughter, Ava Lyn Nagy; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. directly at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Advent, 81 E. Main St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.
