BRISTOL - Frank Gill, 65, of Bristol passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home.

Born Aug. 6, 1947 in Meriden, he was the son of the late James and Anna May (McGrath) Gill. James was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Army from 1968 – 1972. He was part of the Vietnam Reconnaissance Combat Squad. He received a Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars and numerous medals for his service to his country. Frank along with his father owned and operated the James E. Gill Trucking Co.

He is survived by his three sons, James Gill, of Meriden, Francis Gill, of Bristol and Sr. Airman Mechanic Gregory Gill, of Meriden; five grandchildren, Ceilia, Anna, Alexandria, Catherine and Connor. He also leaves his former wife, Donna McManus; and a step-son, Donald McManus, both of Meriden.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
