George Bartlett Obituary
Born in Wallingford, May 26, 1926, a son of the late Arcade and Sophie Pinkowski Bartlett, he was a lifelong Wallingford resident. He had been employed as a tool and die maker and manufacturing engineer for the former Unimax Switch Co. until his retirement in 1990 and previously had worked for the former Stanley-Judd Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, proudly serving during World War II and the Korean War and enjoyed attending the USS Chicago reunions. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Besides his wife Rena, he is survived by his sons, Alan Bartlett and his wife, Melissa, and Paul Bartlett, all of Meriden, and Tom and Shauna Bartlett of Cheshire; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Bartlett and his wife, Leah of Chatanooga, Tenn., Laura Horniak and her husband, Kris of Meriden, and Thomas Bartlett and Katie Bartlett, both of Cheshire; his great-grandchildren, Kristopher Horniak and Nicholas Horniak; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis Bartlett.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. from The Wallingford Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment, with military honors, will be in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. www.wallingfordfh.com
