Gladys Thurrott Obituary
Born Sept. 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Crouse and was a lifelong resident of Meriden. She attended local schools and was retired from Southern New England Telephone Company. She was a parishioner of the First United Methodist Church in Meriden. Mrs. Thurrott enjoyed gardening, reading and especially loved spending time with her family. She was extremely proud of her three great-grandchildren and was grateful for the time she was able to spend with them.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Burton Thurrott and is survived by her children, Judith A. Wactowski, of Meriden and Burton Thurrott Jr., of East Haddam. She also leaves a grandson, James B. Wactowski, of Portland; a granddaughter, Suzanne Brunner and her husband, Kenneth, of Warwick, R. I.; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Brunner, Sophie Brunner and Madeline Wactowski. She is also survived by several other family members and many, many friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Walnut Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 159 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450.
The family would like to thank the staff and management of the Apple-Rehab Coccomo for the kindness and excellent care they gave to Peggy over the past two years.

i just loved peg. We worked together at the phone company in wallingford and i spent many good times sitting at the cafe table talking about the crazy customers and each others families. She was such a lady and i will remember her with the fondest of thoughts
