He is survived by his five brothers and sisters, William Zabel and his wife, Deborah, of Plantsville, Matthew Zabel, of Wallingford, Joann Edwards and her husband, Richard and Patricia Zabel, all of Meriden, Cindy McFadzen and her husband, Delmont of Deland, Fla.; along with several nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. For online condolences visit
