Joanne Dontigney Obituary
She is survived by a son, Timothy Dontigney; three daughters, Sherry Varano, Joyce and Leanne Dontigney; two sisters, Rose Czaja and Lucy Cardini; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Randall Dontigney.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry and Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, June 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. For online condolences please visit www.jferryfh.com

What can I say about the person I looked up to the most. Well she was the most beautiful person I know both on the inside and out. She was strong and courageous. She always knew the right thing to say to me and she never judged me. She is the only person who has excepted me for who I am, faults and all. Who is she to me? She is my best friend and my gram. She loved me more than anyone I know. She also trusted me. She let me dye her hair and cut her hair. She believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. She taught me unconditional love as she waved her finger at me. She taught me respect. She respected me and I respected her. She told me time and time again "if God is for us who can be against! " I still believe this. She showed me love long after I was grown. She was wise and full of wisdom. She loved to cook and have family gathering. She made everyone feel special and important. I always dreamed I'd keep her forever! Her work here is done...but I know she is not gone... she lives in my heart and soul.She will now be my angel.Her teaching will go on through me...her heart of gold is my heart of gold. She was selfless...always putting others first as I do. She will always be in my heart, as I in hers.Gram thank you for being there for me...it has meant the world to me! Until we meet again I love you always...
