John Bleau Obituary

SOUTHINGTON - John E. Bleau, 86, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at the Highland Healthcare Center in Cheshire. He had been the loving husband of Annie (Zakszewski) Bleau for nearly 64 years.

Born on May 16, 1927 in Middletown to the late Harry and Frances (Jacobson) Bleau, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

John served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a machinist from National Welding in Newington after 42 years of service.

In addition to his wife, Annie, John is survived by his son, Gary Bleau, his daughter Diane Peck and her husband, George; 3 grandchildren, Kevin Bleau and his wife, Jane; Kimberly Bleau and her fiancé, Michael Morrone; and William Peck, all of Southington; 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Bleau; and Emily Morrone; his brother, Harry Bleau, of Plainville; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Bleau.

John's family would like to thank the entire staff at the Highland Healthcare Center in Cheshire for their compassion and excellent care.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday Nov. 19, at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, at the Plantsville Funeral Home.
