WALLINGFORD- John Kanaba, 83,died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Coal Ridge, Ohio, Feb. 27, 1930, a son of the late Steve Kanaba, Sr., and Susie Rebar Kanaba. Mr. Kanaba was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a resident of Wallingford since 1963. Until his retirement, he was employed in the accounts receivable Department of Arthur Industries. He was a very active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wallingford.
He is survived by his dear friend, Biagio Nastasi, of Wallingford, a sister, Susan Jereb; a niece and three nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Steve Kanaba, Jr.; and three sisters, Martha and Eleanor Kanaba, and Mary Bundy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 2:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 235 Pond Hill Road, Wallingford. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Cleveland, Ohio.
