MERIDEN - John "Jack" M. Fuschino, 79, of Meriden, husband of the late Catherine (Thorakos) Fuschino, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.

Born in Hamden, Conn. on March 22, 1935, son of the late Frank and Florence (Cooke) Fuschino, he had resided in Philadelphia, Cheshire, and Florida for most of his life, until moving to Meriden some five years ago. Mr. Fuschino was employed by Coca Cola for a number of years before his retirement. More recently, he volunteered at Midstate Medical Center and worked with the Durham Bus Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his beloved dog, Mitzi; four sons, Frank Fuschino, and his wife, Lynn, of Cromwell; Douglas Fuschino, and his wife, Carmen, of Meriden; John Fuschino Jr., and his wife, Kathy, of Rome, Pa.; and Christopher Fuschino, and his wife, Pamela, of Meriden; two stepdaughters, Gigi and Lisa, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters; one brother; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Marioni, of Hamden.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private.
