Joyce Bukowski

WALLINGFORD - Joyce Nesmith Bukowski, 65, of Wallingford, beloved wife of Thomas H. Bukowski, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at her residence.
Joyce was born in Westford, Mass., the daughter of Aksenia (Pupchick) and Norman K. Nesmith. She graduated from Westford Academy in 1965 and from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1969. She was employed for over 20 years as a social worker by the State of Connecticut at the Long Lane School in Middletown. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, baking, watching UConn women's basketball and spending time at Lake Sunapee with family.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her two sons, John T. Bukowski and his wife, Jennifer, of Lebanon, N.H., and Paul M. Bukowski and his wife Terri Sue of Bethany; her two grandchildren, Benjamin and Madelyn; her mother, Aksenia Nesmith, of Westford; her sister, Janet Morano and her husband, Silvio, of Chelmsford, Mass., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Norman K. Nesmith, and grandson, Brady Bukowski.
Funeral services and internment in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford were private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be sent to CHAD-Brady Bukowski Memorial Fund, Children's Hospital at Dartmouth/DHMC Development Office, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext.
