June Toce Obituary

PORT ORANGE, Fla. - June Miller Toce passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at her home in Port Orange, Fla. June was born on May 16, 1933 in Philadelphia, Penn., to Charles and Gladys Miller. June grew up in Meriden and Cromwell, Connecticut. She graduated from Meriden High School in in 1950. After high school she attended the New Britain Teacher's College.

June married Peter Rocco Toce in 1952 in Hartford, and they made their home in Meriden. They lived in Meriden for 25 years, raising five children, before retiring to Port Orange, Florida in 1982. June and Pete were happily married for 61 years. June was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church in Port Orange, where she had many friends, especially June and Tammy. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. June leaves many friends and family members in Connecticut.

June is survived by her beloved husband, Peter Rocco Toce; her daughter Kathy and her husband, Barry of San Diego, Calif.; her son, Peter and his wife, Gail of New Port Richey, Fla.; her son, Richard and his wife, Susan, of East Hampton, Conn.; her daughter, Susan of Beacon Falls, Conn.; and her son, Donald, of Enfield, Conn.; her grandchildren, Jessica, Susan, Kate, Lauren, Kenny, Michelle, Kevin, Julianne, Matthew, and Brittany; and her great-grandchildren Geneva and Evelyn; and by many nieces and nephews. June is also survived by her brothers, Greg Miller, of Pittsburgh, Penn.; and Bobby Miller of Jacksonville, Fla.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Miller.

A private service was held on Nov. 8, attended by her immediate family. Burial will be at the Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Our Lady of Hope Church, 4675 South Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, FL 32129.
