WALLINGFORD - Kenneth R. Dorsey, 86, of Wallingford, beloved husband of 64 years of Bernice Bongoll Dorsey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Monday, June 2, 2014, at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

Kenneth was born in Meriden, July 4, 1927, a son of the late Anthony Dorsey and Madeline Morris Dorsey and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran of World War II and also served in the Connecticut National Guard with Company K. Ken and his brother-in-law were the owners of Charlie's Smoke Shop in Wallingford and later he was involved in the operation of the family business, Dorsey's Service Station and Fuel Oil Company in Wallingford. He was member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Lufberry Post 591, and a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.
In addition to his wife Bernice, he is survived by his daughter, Lynn Dorsey, of Branford; and his son, Thomas Dorsey and his fiancee, Katherine Cichowski, of Middlefield; his two grandchildren, Anthony Dorsey and Kelly Dorsey; his sister, Lorraine Elyward, of Meriden; and his brother, Robert Dorsey and his wife, Phyllis, of Wallingford; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Thursday, June 5, from 9 until 10:30 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
