WALLINGFORD - Lisa Marie Erbe Flower, 53, of Wallingford, entered into peaceful rest in Meriden, Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Bradley S. Flower.

Lisa was born in Torrington, Sept. 1, 1959, a daughter of Ruth H. Husted Reardon and Robert Reardon, of Wallingford and Joseph B. Erbe, of Florida and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. She attended Michigan State University and the University of Texas. Lisa graduated with a bachelor's degree from Charter Oak Community College and earned a master's degree from the University of Connecticut. She was employed as a program director with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), overseeing the Interstate Compact Office. In Over her 24 year career at DCF, she worked for several area offices, including the central office and the Connecticut Juvenile Training School. Lisa moved up through the ranks and held several management positions including Director of the DCF Training Academy, Director of the DCF Hotline, and Assistant Director of the Connecticut Juvenile Training School, and DCF Ombudsman. She was known for her highly organized and efficient systems, and known as a funny, approachable, and well liked by staff and families. She knew how to bring people together, sometimes through food, usually, spicy food. Lisa was proud to have developed and co-host a regular segment on the radio show "Puertoriqenisima." She was a dedicated social worker who thoroughly enjoyed helping children and families. In her spare time, Lisa enjoyed organizing and hosting the annual neighborhood chili cook off and loved spending Sunday afternoons with her son and daughter watching football.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two children, Tyler Silva Flower and Shelby Silva Flower, both of Wallingford; her two brothers, Kevin (Charlene) Erbe, of North Haven and Keith A. Erbe, of Marlborough; her sister, Kristen (Douglas) Mocarski, of North Haven; and several nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Thursday, Jan. 17, from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 9 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
