SOUTHINGTON-Nicholas M. Cianci Sr. 93,formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., husband of the late Maud (Temple) Cianci and the late Rita (Cayer) Cianci, died on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at HCC at Bradley Memorial.

Born in New Britain on Aug. 26, 1919, he was the son of the late Mario and Giuseppina (Bonaiuto) Cianci. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was the owner of Cianci Construction Co. in Southington. Mr. Cianci was Chairman and a founder of Citizen's National Bank. He was a member of Shuttle Meadow Country Club and enjoyed sailing.

He is survived by his children Kenneth and his wife, Jacqueline, of Cheshire, Regina Bogdon, of Farmington, Nicholas Cianci Jr. and his wife, Norma, of Meriden, Harriet Cianci, of Southington; 10 grandchildren, Laurie, Gina, Debra, Dina, Amy, Eric, Adam, Christina, Nicole, and Niles; and 15 great-grandchildren and a longtime caregiver Charles. In addition to his wives he was predeceased by two sons, Richard Cianci Sr., and David Cianci; a grandson, Richard Cianci Jr.; three brothers John, Paul and Joseph; two sisters, Mary D'Onifrio and Natalie Venezino.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Thomas Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment, with military honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in New Britain.
