Ralph Forgione Obituary
He was born in Southington on March 4, 1924, the son of the late Raphael and Catherine (Fiorello) Forgione. He was a Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He was a Lt. in the 14th U.S. Air Force with the Flying Tigers. He received several awards during his military career while on missions flying supplies in China and Burma. Mr. Forgione was a co-founder and owner of F & F Concrete Corporation which was started in 1953. He was a lifetime member of the Southington Elks Lodge. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and a former member of the Southington Town Council.
He is survived by a son, David A. Forgione and wife, Peggy, of Plantsville; a daughter, Diane M. Walker, of Grant, Fla. He was the loving grandfather of Lauren, David and Daniel Forgione and Joshua and Benjamin Walker.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Southington Salvation Army, 91 Norton St. Plantsville, CT 06479. Hello Dave and family.Sorry that it took me so long to get here but my heart goes out to you and your family upon learning of your fathers passing.Your dad was a saint and in the 21 years I worked for him I never heard anyone with a bad word for him.
I'll bet he worked right up till the end as he had the work ethic that would not allow any different.I am hoping that the company turns out according to his vision to justify all his hard work.Bless you all and may you rest in peace Ralph,my life is having known you over the years.Ronald Gordon

With his infectious smile, he was always a gentleman. I thank his family for sharing Ralph with us. The last time I had the privilege of being in his company, was seeing him at the Southington Care Center, a few months back and sharing life experiences with him.
