Robert Albert Doyer Jr.

MERIDEN - Robert Albert Doyer, Jr., passed way into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at the age of 56 in Bellingham, Wash., of cancer.

He was born in Meriden, May 5, 1957 and had lived in Meriden his whole life until moving to Washington two years ago. He worked as a tool and die maker and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving from 1979 to 1983 aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CV-69, during the Persian Gulf Crisis.

Bob was the beloved son of Vincent and Mary Lou Cappetta, of Meriden, who will miss him being such a loving part of their lives.
He also leaves his fiancée, Lesli Higginson, of Ferrndale, Wash., who, during his illness, was by his side night and day caring for him. He leaves his son, Rob Doyer, of Cheshire; his daughter, Jennifer of Florida; his five grandchildren; and his former wife, Beverly Doyer. He will be dearly missed by his brothers, David Courchesne (Peggy Doll) and Richard Courchesne (Lori May), all of Meriden, and Thomas Correia (Lisa Polselli) of Southington; and his sister, Deb Correia, of New Hampshire.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:45 a.m. in The Wallingford Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will be in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
