MERIDEN - Roland Joseph Boucher, Sr., 82, died on March 2, 2013, at Village Green of Bristol, surrounded by his family after a long illness.

Born in Hartford on Sept. 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Henry and Isabelle Boucher. He had resided in Meriden. Mr. Boucher was employed by General Motors. He had served in the U.S. Army. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Meriden and a member of the Meriden Elks Lodge 35.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan O'Loughlin, of Meriden; two sons, Roland Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Bristol, and John and his wife, Donna, of Rhode Island; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and one sister, Marie Dzierzowki, of Meriden. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Boucher, of Ohio; and a special friend, Marge Bergemann, of Meriden.
