Dear Mrs. Johnson, Walt and Kenny, I just learned of your dad's passing from my mother . The Christmas card she sent to your folks was returned. Mom then called your mom, sensing something was not right. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad time. May The Lord provide comfort and strength to you all.

Deardear Johnson Family, I was so sorry to hear the news of the loss of Walter. I have so many memories of him growing up, one of my father's closest friends. Both my dad and mom loved Dotti and Walter so much. They shared many, many good times. I am sorry I missed the reception and service to honor him. I was not in CT at all that week and heard the news last Friday. All my condolences to all of you. This is a bitter sweet time in our lives. I hope the sympathy of all your friends and family will lessen the sting of loss.

I have many wonderful memorials of my Uncle Walt, and with Auntie Dottie, and of the many times I spent at his house playing with my cousins, Walter & Kenny. I always admired Uncle Walt as an honorable and friendly man. I greatly regret that I will not be able to attend his funeral and play Taps for his military honors. However, I pledge that I will play Taps in his honor in Virginia Beach while his funeral service is being conducted in Connecticut. May I express my heartfelt prayers and sincere condolences to Auntie Dottie, Walter, Kenneth, and all of his extended family members for their loss.
