I had the fortune to grow up with Mr. Warren as a close grandfather figure in my life, and cannot begin to imagine the impact he had on me. Sometimes family is born unto us, and sometimes we meet them instead at a later date. All of my thoughts are with his family, may he rest in peace.

I feel very blessed to have met Warren this year. I recently spent some time talking to him at the cast party for Avenue Q, and he shared stories with me about his life, career, and family, and gave me some great advice for my future. I really felt how much he loved his family, community, and was so proud of everyone. He will be missed.

So sorry for your loss. Speaking for myself and the whole Welch family , we have so many fond memories of your Dad & Mom and all of you, growing up. Probably one of the last times he sang was at my Dad's wake service a few months ago and that brought tears to all. He was a wonderful man and friend to all of us. He will truly be missed but just know that your Dad and my Dad now have a new audience with God! Our prayers are with you all. God Bless.

Just a few memories I'd like to share...
1) The fights between the Smith boys, McBrides,Shalkeys,Pagano, Steven Bebe over who got to be Warren's "Page" in first Congo's Christmas Pageant..You know you made the "big time" if you got to be King Warren's PAGE!!! I held that honor for 3 years in a row.
2)Christmas eve Midnight service, Who can ever forget Warren singing " Oh Holy Night" from the 1960s-1980s I would go to that midnight service Just to hear Warren sing that song,,you can ask ANY first congo member and they will tell you the same thing.
In my mind & heart Warren was that Shinning Christmas Star.
3)At Christmas My family Always got a box of Warren's Fudge...my mom would Hide it ,,,,but I would FIND it!
4) Warren was loved by EVERYONE young & old alike...But I'll always remember how good Warren was to all us KIDS at First Church,,," A man never stood so tall as when he bends down to help a child" That was Warren!!!
Warren filled my ears with SONG,& Laughter, and my belly with Fudge...
to the "Von Trapp" girls I am sorry for your Loss..But I am so HAPPY & GLAD that Warren touched all our lives..

May Warren's memory be eternal and may all of you find peace in the days to come.

To dear Wendy, Tracey, Tammy, and my special Melanie; “The Girls” and your husbands and children:
I send my deepest sympathies and love. I grew up with you girls; your parents were like an uncle and aunt to me. I cherish those days. We have so many memories: giggles, fights, laughter, tears, and joys as we grew from adolescence to womanhood-- our parents almost always together. Your Mother and Dad like my Mother's sister and brother. Weekends spent at our home, swimming in our pool and your Dad pretending to be Mr. Atlas--so proud when he built that pool at your home. I can close my eyes and see him singing in an auditorium to your beloved Mother: “L is for the way you look at me; O is for the only one I see; V is very, very extraordinary; E is even more than anyone that you adore and Love is all that I can give to you.” After that the four of you joined him on stage and sang together. So many special times you all spent together with so many beautiful memories. I could reminisce for hours, but I will close with just one, my most vivid recollection of your Dad was the faith he demonstrated as he sang the Old Rugged Cross at your Mother's grave site. He is now singing to his only love in Heaven.
Your Dad was your biggest champion; always wanting the very best the world had to offer for each one of you. He would speak of even your little accomplishments with pride and joy. Among his proudest days were your graduations, marriages, families, and the lives you lead; so pleased with the women you all are!
I so wish I could be there to celebrate Warren, his wonderful life, and the joy he offered to all who knew him. I know your faith will guide you and comfort you like no other. Wishing you blessing knowing your Dad is now with the Lord.
With Love and memories, Maria
