MERIDEN - Donald Pierson, Sr., 81, of Meriden. Husband of the late Elizabeth Basserman Pierson.
Loving father of Donald Pierson, Jr., of Wallingford, William Pierson, of Milford, Mary George, of Prospect, Carol Gesner, of Torrington and Ann Destefano, of Trumbull; also survived by five grandchildren and thre great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Lois Stewart.
Donald was born in New Haven Dec. 3, 1930, son of the late William and Alberta (Laudensack) Pierson. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he worked as a printer and type setter for many years.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will be private in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
