MERIDEN - Edward H. Angosky, 79, of Sterling Village, Meriden, died, Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Shirley Kobak Angosky.

Edward was born in Astoria, Long Island, N.Y., Oct. 17, 1930, the son of the late Edward Angosky and Helen Scheel Angosky and had been a Meriden resident for many years. He was a graduate of Meriden High School, class of '48, and had attended both Laurel College and Central Connecticut State College. He had been em-ployed in the advertising offices of the Meriden Record-Journal, the Southington News and the New Haven Register, until his retirement, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Edward was an avid boater and cross country skier. He enjoyed playing the drums for both the Jack Muenchow Orchestra and the Eddy Kay Trio and later enjoyed playing the keyboard for many local nursing homes. Edward was a volunteer at the Curtis Home in Meriden and for Connecticut Public Television.

Besides his wife Shirley, he is survived by his nephew and niece, Robert Kobak and his wife, Cyndi, and their children, Kyra and Maia, of Chicopee, Mass.; his God family, Sharon Crosle and her husband, Bob, and their children, Brian and Becky, of Southington; and several cousins. He was predeceased by two infant child-ren, Heidi and Teddy; and his brother-in-law, Robert Kobak.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wednesday, Jan. 13 from 4 until 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in The Wallingford Funeral Home, Thursday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
