MERIDEN- Eraine L. Ball, 76, beloved wife of James E. Ball, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Hartford Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Meriden on Sept. 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late David and Irene (Baillargeon) Luca. Mrs. Ball was a lifelong Meriden resident. Mrs. Ball was the owner of the Colonial Bridal Shoppe in Meriden. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.
Besides her husband, James, of 55 years, she is survived by a son, James L. Ball, of Meriden; a daughter, Karen Schaeffer and her husband, the Rev. John Schaeffer of Wexford, Pa.; and three grandchildren, David, Eric and Jennifer Schaeffer. She is also survived by a sister, Karen Tolhus; a brother, Robert Luca; a niece, Kristene; a nephew, Robbie; and a host of friends, including Rose Cassidy, Joan Dymon and Arlene Camp. She was predeceased by a brother, David Luca.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Laurent Church, 121 Camp St., Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather at the church. Burial will be private. Family and friends may call at the John J.
