SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - Florence S. Murphy, 93, of South Kingstown, R.I., passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012. She was the wife of late Flurence "Murph" Murphy.

Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Salenge. Mrs. Murphy worked as a telephone operator for many years before retiring.

She leaves a daughter, Sally Boyd and her husband, Wayne and Jay Murphy and his wife, Paivi, all of Wakefield, R.I.; and five grandchildren, Kelly and Spencer Boyd, Erik, Alex and Tomas Murphy. "Gramma" enjoyed watching her grandsons play basketball. She was mother of the late William Murphy; sister of the late Joan Weigand, Agnes DelFavero, Sally Kaska, all of Meriden and Francis Little, of Rhode Island.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St., Wakefield, R.I. Visiting hours Friday 5 to 7 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden.
