MERIDEN - Frank A. Gawlik, 61, beloved husband of Janice (Clark) Gawlik, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, unexpectedly at MidState Medical Center.

Frank was born Sept. 12, 1951, the son of the late Alfred W. and Irene A. (Waukowska) Gawlik. A lifelong resident of Meriden he was a graduate of Platt High School, Class of 1970 and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Frank previously worked as a security guard for Cuno. He was an active model railroader enthusiast and a member of many various railroading clubs. Frank enjoyed all types of music including the Beatles, The Who and Polka music. He had a great love for animals and was a big fan of playing fantasy football. Frank especially enjoyed traveling to Maine with his family.
Besides his loving wife Janice, Frank is survived by his cousin, Robert Cichowski, of Meriden; and many friends and family.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden. The Rev. Eric Henderson of the First United Methodist Church and The Rev. Edward Ziemnicki of St. Stanislaus Church will officiate at his service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
