WALLINGFORD - Gertrude A. Parker Sutherland, 70, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully, Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Gertrude was born in Keene, N.H., March 24, 1942, a daughter of the late L Arden Parker and Gertrude Frail Parker and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. She had been employed by Walbro in Meriden until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Black and her two sons, Michael Wolosko and Mark Wolosko and his wife, Janice, all of Maine; her six grandchildren, Jennie Nevells, Mark Sutherland II, Kristina Muncey, Heidi Wolosko, Kimberly Spaulding, and Lea Sutherland; and eight great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Margie Kowalski, of Wallingford, with whom she resided, and Mary Yatzook, of Florida; and her brother, Maynard Parker and his wife, Pat, of Yalesville; several nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Ceil Rooks, of Middlefield. She was predeceased by her grandson, Roger Sutherland.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Friday, Sept. 14, from 4 until 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. in St. John Cemetery, 401 Christian St., Wallingford.
