MERIDEN - Gordon Philip Fitzgerald, 64, of Meriden, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at MidState Medical Center.

He was born in Calais, Maine, Oct. 4, 1947, a son of Lillian Mitchell Fitzgerald of Campobello Island, Canada, and the late Philip T. Fitzgerald. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam War era as member of a military honor guard and as a Paratrooper. He was employed for 46 years at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in North Haven and later at East Hartford and was due to retire this October.
In addition to his mother Lillian, he is survived by his sisters, Carol Calcinari and her husband, John, of Meriden, Andria Fitzgerald, of Meriden, and Cheryl Fitzgerald and her partner, James Rinaldi, of Meriden; his nieces and nephews, Traci Calcinari and her partner, Herve Kimball, Angela Dean and her husband, David, Philip Newman and his wife, Kinny, Jay Newman and his wife, Mary, Daniel Perez and his partner, Megan Foster, and Desiree Diogostine and her husband, Joseph; his grandnieces and grandnephews, Lillie, Ava, Vienna, Lance, Colin and Olivia.
Funeral services and interment will be on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada, on Sunday. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the
