WALLINGFORD - Helen Rita Creto Badamo, 86, of Wallingford, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

She was born in Wallingford, February 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Maryanna Civitello and had been a high honors student while attending local schools, Laurel College and Southern Connecticut State University. She had worked as a timekeeper and payroll clerk at R. Wallace and Sons until her retirement. Helen was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church and a member of the Columbiettes Pinta Council No. 5. She was a seventh-degree and national member and officer of the Wallingford Grange No. 5.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Donna J. Badamo Harduby, of Florida, and Gail and James Hahnel, of Wallingford; her grandchildren, Jonathan Harduby and his wife, Patricia, of Florida, and Jennifer Hahnel, of Wallingford; her great grandson, Michael Harduby; and her brother, Albert Creto and his wife, Gloria, of Wallingford. She was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Harduby; and her sisters, Barbara McFarlane and Katherine Arisco.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Wallingford Grange, 586 Center St., Wallingford, CT 06492.
