WALLINGFORD - John Terleski, 88, of Wallingford, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Masonicare Health Center.

He was born in Lawrence, Mass., Sept. 9, 1925, a son of the late Vasili and Mary Baron Terleski and was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran where he fought in the Battle of Normandy, was a P.O.W. and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had employed until his retirement at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft.

He is survived by many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Walter, Peter and Miraslaw.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford on Saturday, April 26, from 9:3. until 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
