WALLINGFORD - Joseph William Baran, 86, of Main St. Yalesville, died, Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Village at Kensington Place in Meriden. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Hattie Bronsord Baran.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Sept. 19, 1922, a son of the late George and Mary Kalarcik Baran. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and had been employed by Ulbrich Stainless Steel and Specialty Metals. He was the past proprietor of Yalesville Package Store and a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yalesville.
Besides his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Diane J. and Daniel Folta, of Cheshire, and Susan E. and Richard Termini, of Wallingford; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce E. and Karan Baran, and Gary J. and Lynn Baran, all of Meriden; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. Interment with military honors will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
