MERIDEN - Josephine M. Bortolan, 95, wife of the late Joseph Bortolan passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at Westfield Care and Rehab in Meriden.

She was born April 26, 1917 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Munz and had worked for Olin Manufacturing in New Haven for 20 years.

"Grams" as she was known enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Josephine is survived by a son, Joseph Bortolan, of Meriden; a son-in-law, Bruce Conroy, of Wallingford; nine grandchildren, Joseph, Nancy and Robert Gambardella, Bruce Conroy, Mimi Angiletta, Joseph, Marcy, Miako and Theresa Bortolan; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marianne Conroy; five sisters; and two brothers.

A thank-you to the staff of Westfield Care and Rehab, especially wing 500 for the wonderful care they gave Grams.

Funeral services and burial will be private. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.
